How to program the RCA Universal Remote?

Press and hold the device key (TV/DVD/SAT) at the top of the remote
The POWER button will illuminate
Keep holding the device key and enter the first code (4/5 Digits) for your brand
Continue holding the DEVICE key
If the POWER button is lit, you have entered the right code
When the POWER button blinks 4 times, the input code is incorrect. Re-enter the code
Once you get a signal, as the POWER button is lit, release the DEVICE key
Point the remote at your device and control various functions.

If not all the functions are working properly, reprogram with another code from the list.

Pairing the RCA remote revision numbers R271U1 and R271U2

The programming method is a little bit different if you are using the remotes with revision numbers R271U1 and R271U2.

Press and hold down the TV button until the POWER button illuminates. Then release the TV (DEVICE) button. Enter the 4 or 5-digit code for your device brand Via the number keys. If the POWER button light is turned OFF, the code you entered is correct. If the POWER button blinks TWO times and remains illuminated, you have entered the incorrect code.

Programming the RCA remote without code

Take an example of programming for a TV.

Turn on your TV, and point the remote at it
Press and hold the TV button. The POWER LED light will light, and don't release the TV button
Keep pressing the Power button as well. The Red light on the power button will turn off and turn back on in a few seconds. Now you can release both buttons.
Press the PLAY button every 5 seconds until your TV turns OFF
The red light will blink in five seconds
Once your TV turns off, press the REVERSE button every 3 Seconds.
When your TV turns back on, immediately press the STOP button to save the code.

How to program the RCA remote with the code search button

Turn on your device and point the remote at it
Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the top LED turns ON
Then press the Device key (Ex, TV if programming for TV). The indicator light will blink once and stay lit.
Press the Power key now and observe the indicator light. Allow it to blink, indicating that the remote is in the process of testing codes.
If the blinking does not happen automatically, manually press the Power key at 2-3 second intervals.
